We are taking the educational and artistic experience of MedFest-EG far beyond film screenings where we try putting together ideas and insights from different groups of healthcare professionals, filmmakers and children and their families in workshops and camps directed towards healthcare awareness and filmmaking for children about their own topics.
The objective of the parallel program is to add more space for interaction and reflections based on the topics tackled in the films selection.
The Parallel program will consist of 2-3 workshops conducted by Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Artists.
Timing and Location will be determined after the announcement of our final program in early March 2019.
The first MEDFEST-EG edition came to the light in January and April of 2017, Tackling mental health issues which have always been a part of the collective consciousness of communities. Whether spoken about loudly or shunned from public discussions, mental health has been and would always be a concern for us all and despite the occurrence of global changes towards dealing with mental health issues, stigmas are still there and correctly dealing with them requires communication; that would always be our goal.
