A film essay reflecting on the concepts of “sanity”
and “madness.” With the use of images, sounds
and text, the author contemplates on the
impossibility of capturing the essence of madness,
which transcends the limitations of any specific
discourse, be it medical, social or psychoanalytical.
The film subtly touches on all these discourses,
approaches this impossibility, and documents the
author’s several attempts and failures to make a
film that represents the “mad” or the experience of
“madness”, which have all led to this realisation of
the impossibility of defining or representing
madness.
