Currently working on her first feature film “Mariam” which will be an Franco-Egyptian co-production. She started her career in 2008 as a director’s assistant to one of Egypt’s leading directors: Khaled Youssef. Afterwards, she joined the crews of several local and foreign productions until 2011, when she started working on her own films.
She directed four short movies: “Salsa” 2011, “Spring” 2011 produced by “Festival Off-courts” in France and “Together” 2012, produced by “Kinomada” in Quebec, Canada. “Baheya” her last short movie produced by joint fund from Misr International Films, the British Council and the British Embassy in Cairo. The film was screened over 22 times locally and internationally. She holds a Master degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Economic & Political Science, Cairo University about the influence of cinema as a soft power tool in international relation ” The image of 9/11 in American and Egyptian films”
